Eligibility for enrollment in the Burraq UK–Level 3 Certificate in Quality Control and Quality Assurance (QA/QC) in Mechanical requires applicants to fulfill the following requirements:
- Age Requirement: Minimum age of 18 years.
- Educational Background: A minimum of a Level 2 qualification in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, or a related field is required. Alternatively, candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent qualifications in mathematics, science, or technology may also be considered.

1. Mechanical Codes & Material Standards
Application of Codes: Master the practical application of industry-standard codes, specifically ASME (Section IX, VIII, B31.3), API (510, 570, 653), and AWS D1.1.
Material Identification: Identify and verify mechanical properties of materials (P-numbers, Group numbers) and ensure compliance with MTRs (Material Test Reports).
2. Welding & Piping Inspection
Welding Quality Control: Perform visual inspections of welds and verify WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications) and PQR (Procedure Qualification Records).
NDT Oversight: Interpret the results of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods, including Radiographic (RT), Ultrasonic (UT), Magnetic Particle (MT), and Dye Penetrant (PT) testing.
Pressure Testing: Plan and supervise Hydrostatic and Pneumatic pressure tests for piping systems and pressure vessels.
3. Static and Rotating Equipment
Installation Verification: Inspect the alignment and leveling of pumps, motors, and turbines according to manufacturer tolerances.
Static Equipment Inspection: Conduct internal and external inspections of heat exchangers, storage tanks, and boilers to ensure structural integrity and coating quality.
4. Advanced Problem-Solving & Reporting
Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Apply techniques like the “5 Whys” or “Ishikawa Diagrams” to identify the source of mechanical failures or quality deviations.
Documentation Management: Prepare comprehensive Final Dossiers, including “As-Built” drawings, test certificates, and Release Notes for equipment commissioning.
Corrective Action: Develop and track CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) to prevent the recurrence of mechanical non-conformities.
