Eligibility for enrollment in the Burraq UK–Level 3 Certificate in Quality Control and Quality Assurance (QA/QC) in Mechanical requires applicants to fulfill the following requirements:
- Age Requirement: Minimum age of 18 years.
- Educational Background: A minimum of a Level 2 qualification in Electrical engineering, manufacturing, or a related field is required. Alternatively, candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent qualifications in mathematics, science, or technology may also be considered.
- Experience: Prior exposure to Electrical systems, industrial processes, or engineering projects is preferred but not mandatory.
- English Language Proficiency: Applicants should have at least an intermediate level of English to understand technical content, participate in discussions, and complete assessments.

1. Civil Engineering Standards & Codes
- Interpret Technical Codes: Develop a working knowledge of international and local standards such as ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials), ACI (American Concrete Institute), and BS (British Standards).
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all civil works align with municipal building codes and environmental safety regulations.
2. Material Quality & Laboratory Testing
- Concrete & Earthwork Testing: Understand and oversee essential site tests, including concrete slump tests, cube/cylinder compressive strength tests, and soil compaction (Proctor) tests.
- Material Verification: Perform “Receiving Inspections” to verify that reinforcement steel, cement, aggregates, and bricks meet project specifications before use.
3. Structural Inspection & Process Control
- Pre-Pour Inspections: Master the checklist for formwork, reinforcement (rebar) placement, and cleanliness before authorizing concrete pours.
- Surveying & Alignment: Verify that structural elements (columns, beams, slabs) are within the permissible tolerances for level, plumb, and dimensions.
- Infrastructure QC: Apply quality control measures to roadwork, drainage systems, and finishing works like masonry and plastering.
4. Quality Documentation & Management
- ITP Implementation: Develop and execute Inspection and Test Plans (ITP) tailored to specific civil project phases.
- Reporting Excellence: Accurately draft Method Statements, Daily Inspection Reports (DIR), and Request for Inspection (RFI) forms.
- Non-Conformance Management: Identify structural or material defects, issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), and track corrective actions to closure.
